After School Program
The mission of Gateway’s before and after school care program is to create a safe, caring environment where children can explore, discover, develop and expand their individual interests, creativity, physical abilities, and social skills.
Before and After School Care
Flexible schedules and contracts are available to meet the needs of working families. Parents may choose schedules based on daily, part-time, or as-needed care.
Before School Care (free, included in tuition)
7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
After School Care (cost depends on contract)
2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Before and After School Staff
Gateway’s after school care staff includes one full time on-site director, and 2-4 part time staff. The program maintains a minimum staff to student ratio of 1 to 10. Gateway caretakers model positive attitudes and cooperative behavior with a focus on problem solving.
Program Activities
Gateway’s after school activities are flexible to meet the individual needs of each child. The staff creates an environment that encourages the physical and imaginative development of children and supports their self-directed choices. Indoor activities include arts and crafts, cooking, drawing, clay, music, and quiet reading. Outdoor activities include free play, sports activities, and group games. There are basketball courts, sports fields, and play structures available. Children are offered a healthy snack after school at 3:15 each day. Snack time brings everyone together as a group before the activities begin.
